Two Individuals Accused Over Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Assault
Two individuals are now facing charges in connection with a suitcase robbery where a substance thought to be capsaicin spray caused injuries at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of administering a noxious substance, authorities have stated.
These accusations come after an probe of an attack at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their luggage taken after getting out of a car park lift, police said.
A toddler was one of the people hurt during the incident. Five people were taken to a medical facility and were later discharged.
This event – described by police as was not part of a series and not being treated as terrorism – led to disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a limited duration.
