The loved ones of young people lost after a deadly fire at a bar in a Switzerland's alpine town are enduring an painful wait for official news and pleading for any details about their family members online.

The blaze engulfed the Le Constellation bar in Cans-Montana, located in the Swiss Alps of south-west Switzerland, in the early hours of January 1st. Verified images reveal the roof structure igniting as beverages with sparklers are held aloft.

Officials have indicated that it could take an extended period to identify the those who perished of the disaster, which claimed the lives of 40 people and hurt another 119. Officials stated on Friday that 113 of the injured have been identified, with work continuing to name the final individuals.

In the waiting period, families and friends have been taking to the internet to appeal for any news about their loved ones who were at the bar that evening.

Heartbreaking Pleas for the Unaccounted For

The whereabouts of Swiss national Arthur Brodard, a teenager, are currently unknown, according to an public plea from his parent.

Included in that group is Emanuele Galeppini, a teenage promising athlete, who hailed from Italy but now living in Dubai.

The Italian Golf Federation has released a tribute that he is deceased, without mentioning the tragedy, honoring a "young athlete who embodied passion and authentic values."

His father, reportedly stated that his son was at the bar and was last heard from around the new year. An representative has stated that a formal confirmation of his death is awaited.

Giovanni Tamburi, 16, is also among the missing. His mother explained that he had been on holiday but had ventured out with friends and found himself at the bar.

"Someone with him informed me they escaped after the fire erupted and that he had his phone with him, but then at a certain point he lost sight of him," she explained, adding he had been wearing a distinctive gold chain.

One of his teachers commented, "I remember his good nature and positive demeanor, coupled with great responsibility. Often ask if help out."

Alice Kallergis, who holds both Greek and Swiss citizenship but lives full-time in Switzerland, was also at the bar on New Year's Eve, according to sources.

Her sibling has published an appeal on social media, saying the relatives has had "no updates" regarding the 15-year-old or the three friends she was with, who are also unaccounted for.

Consular authorities from her country of origin say they are continuing to monitor the case.
