British boxer Anthony Joshua Released from Hospital in Nigeria Following Tragic Road Accident

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities announced on Wednesday night. The athlete was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on the 29th of December, a devastating event that took the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Healing from Light Wounds

The boxer had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, confirmed in an update on social media that Joshua was declared medically stable to continue his recovery at home.

“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two deceased friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” the official remarked.

Remembering the Victims

Those who lost their lives were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. The official further stated that the champion was filled with sorrow and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two dear friends.”

The news of his discharge follows the sports world offered condolences for the fighter in the aftermath of the devastating accident.
